CDA Program — Meadowbrook School. Our Program. The CDA provides emotional, social and behavioural support to all students at Meadowbrook School. The CDA is available to any student who has a concern and needs someone to talk to. The CDA offers a planned and balanced approach to student development. Planned activities focus on developing social and emotional skills in students, with the goal of enhancing both their social interactions and their academic achievement. The CDA consults with staff, students, parents and when necessary, with outside agencies. This ensures that the needs of all learners are being met. The program is designed to provide proactive and preventative programs as well as intervention with issues which have already been identified. The CDA is an active members of both the School Resource and Crisis Management Teams. Some of the issues addresed by the CDA include: Preventative Programming for kids at risk. Peer issues and choices. Relationship Building. Reinforcing Social Skills. How to Help a Grieving Teen. This material was adapted from Helping Teens Cope with Death by The Dougy Center.
